About Echoes Of Mercy Mission

The Story Behind the Calling

"I would simply quote Mother Teresa from Calcutta-India, who once said “When you enter a dark room, you do not complain about the darkness; you light a candle. Light overpowers darkness, and the whole room is filled with brightness.”

The reality of poverty my people were going through dawned on me with deep compassion when I visited my village in Kenya. I looked at their pain and suffering, with a compassionate heart and saw a people living in darkness-oppressed by poverty, the prevalence of HIV and AIDS, and many injustices against widows and orphans. I knew that someone had to step forward to bring relief.

Their predicament touched my heart profoundly. I remember crying when I met a sickly, weak widow almost at the point of death begging for food for herself and her children, they had not eaten for days.

My response to their situation felt like a miracle to them. From that moment, I began to see the Lord using Echoes of Mercy Mission as a beacon of hope, not only for this present life but also for eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ.

One day, while traveling to Tanzania, the hymn “Blessed Assurance” was playing on the car stereo. The Lord used the words “echoes of mercy”, stanza in the song, as a powerful motivation to reach out to the lives of my people. At that moment, I developed a deep conviction to start Echoes of Mercy Mission.

Since then, the Lord has used Echoes of Mercy Mission as His hand in uplifting the lives of my people. I give God all the glory for what He has accomplished through the mission so far. Although much more remains to be done, I pray that the Lord will raise more beacons of light to bring relief to His people, as we follow Christ’s Footsteps and uphold the principle of mercy towards the needy in the society."
