No Wasted Pain, No Forgotten Heart
“But recall the former days in which, after you were [a]illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: 33 partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated.” Hebrews 10:32-33
Dear Mission Partners and Friends,
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued partnership with Echoes of Mercy Mission. Because of your generosity and faithfulness, we were able to stand alongside widows, leaders and children. Not only with practical support, but also with a message that echoes through every session: no one is forgotten in the eyes of God.
During the recent mission visit by First Bentonville Church, held from March 20th -24th, we witnessed profound moments of transformation. The mission brought together 1500 widows and 100 local leaders, creating a powerful space for healing, encouragement and empowerment.
This report highlights what your support made possible: teachings that anchored weary souls, fellowship that restored joy and seed investment that will grow into sustainable hope.

The Theme That Anchored Us: “No Wasted Pain”
“But recall the former days … and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated.” Hebrews 10:32-33
Our time together opened with a truth that resonates deeply: pain is real, and loss is deeply felt. Rather than rushing past the grief. We created space to honor it trusting that God himself remembers every sorrow, every injustice and every silent tear.
Instead, We were reminded:
- God sees and calls you by name: “O Lord, You have searched me and known me” Psalm 139:1
- Creation continues to testify of His glory: “The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.” Psalm 19:1 - Pain does not silence creation. The sky still speaks and so does your story.
- God’s glory often unfolds gradually, like the sunrise, His presence is revealed in quiet nearness, not in sudden miracles alone.
One widow shared: “I came carrying a heavy story. I left knowing that God carries small joys in unexpected places”
Gods Glory in Suffering: Key Lessons from the Widows Conference
Throughout the conference, speakers unpacked how God reveals Himself in seasons of hardship.
- Gods glory shines in His Nearness
David often wrote the Psalms while hiding, yet boldly declared God’s glory: The heavens declare the glory of God
- Pain does not silence God’s work
- God does not rush to explain- He draws near to listen
- He defends the vulnerable and lifts the oppressed
“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.” Psalm 34:18
We emphasized spiritual practices made possible through your support Prayer, Worship and Fellowship as a vital pathway to experiencing God’s presence.
- The Cross Changes Everything
“If you want to see Gods glory look at the cross”
What appeared as defeat became the ultimate victory. At the cross, Christ entered human suffering fully.
Through this, we confronted life’s deepest questions:
- Is God against me?
- Does God understand suffering?
- Is God powerful enough to redeem my pain?
The answer is clear: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
Jesus’ suffering and resurrection affirm that:
- God understands pain intimately
- God is for His people
- God redeems suffering for His purposes
“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good…” Genesis 50:20
We learned that God does not discard our suffering. He takes what was meant for harm and uses it for good. Just as He did with Joseph (Genesis 50:20)

- Hope that Anchors
Drawing from the lives of Joseph, Job and Paul, participants we were reminded that:
- Suffering is never wasted in God’s hands
- Faith can endure even the darkest seasons
- God’s purposes prevail beyond present pain
Seed Investment: Planting for Sustainable Hope
Your generosity extended beyond spiritual nourishment into practical empowerment.
45 widows’ groups received seed funding to establish group initiatives. This was a moment of empowerment not a hand out but a hand up.
These funds will be:
- Pooled collectively
- Managed within the groups
- Reinvested to support members
Through this simple yet transformative act, the widows are now building their own financial reliance, dignity and mutual support systems.
Leaders Ministry: Strengthening the Shepherds
As part of the mission, a Pastors and leaders Seminar was convened to strengthen the spiritual foundation and leadership capacity of those serving on the frontlines of ministry.
Overview of Key Sessions
- The Ministry of Presence and the Cost of calling
The session addressed the realities of ministry and the temptation leader’s face to grow weary or give up. Leaders were reminded to remain anchored in their divine calling. A central theme was the “ministry of presence” the call for leaders to be present with their people and not merely function administratively.
- The Transformation of Peter
Using the life of the Apostle Peter, This session illustrated how God transforms imperfect individuals into pillars of His Church.
Key Leadership Qualities Highlighted:
- Courage-stepping out in faith despite fear
- Adaptability-responding wisely to changing needs
- Influence-building trust through character
- Humanity-surrendering fully to God’s process
Key leadership Lessons and Biblical Foundations
The seminar emphasized that leadership is rooted not in authority, but in transformation, stewardship and obedience to God’s call.
Leaders were reminded
- Their strength comes from remembering their divine assignment. (Romans 12:12)
- Leadership is stewardship. Influence must be matched with humanity and accountability before God and people. (1Corinthians 4:18)
- Leaders were encouraged to embrace humility, recognizing that God does not need us but graciously chooses to use us.(Psalm 73:26)
- Leaders are equipped to build unity rather than division, learning from Peter’s example of embracing change and extending grace across boundaries.

Children’s Ministry: Nurturing Joy and Faith through VBS
A key highlight of the mission was the four- day Vacation Bible School (VBS) program, designed to minister to children in a joyful, engaging and Christ-centered environment.
The children participated in:
- Interactive Bible lessons introducing them to God’s love
- Creative arts and crafts, expressing faith through creativity
- Games and team activities, building confidence and joy
- Fellowship and bonding time with the mission team, creating meaningful relationships
Beyond the activities, the greatest impact came through intentional presence sharing time, laughter, and encouragement.
“But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14
This program planted seeds of faith that will continue to grow in the hearts of the children.
Ministry Impact: What Your Support Achieved
Because of your partnership, we were able to:
- Facilitate deep, biblically grounded teaching sessions for widows and leaders
- Launch self-sustaining savings groups through seed funding
- Engage children through Vacation Bible School (VBS), mentorship, and play, demonstrating Christ’s love
- Strengthen and encourage local leaders, teachers, and staff who carry this mission daily
“Let the little children come to me…” Matthew 19:14
A Word from the Mission Team
We came to serve, but we left changed. The widows demonstrated worship in the midst of loss. The leaders modeled what faithfulness, resilience looks like, and the children reminded us of the joy and simplicity of Christ’s love.
Looking Ahead: Sustaining the Impact
We invite you to continue collaborating with us as we build on this momentum.
Your ongoing support will enable us to:
- Expand the widows’ saving groups to reach more women
- Strengthen leadership development programs
- Support a child through education
- Welcome more mission teams to walk alongside us
Call to Partnership
Will you help us sustain and grow this impact?
Your generosity continues to transform lives, turning seeds into lasting harvests.
With Deepest gratitude,
Bsp Moses Odhiambo
