Easter at Echoes of Mercy Children’s Home.

During this past Easter season, something beautiful unfolded at Echoes of Mercy Mission a powerful blend of love, service, and purpose that left a lasting impact on both the children and the visitors who came to spend time with them. At the heart of this visit was children’s and environmental ambassador Kristin Melanie, who, together with her fellow students from Strathmore University, chose to spend their time not in comfort, but in service pouring into the lives of orphans and nurturing hope where it matters most.

Planting Trees, Planting Hope

One of the key highlights of the day was environmental conservation through tree planting. But this was more than just an activity it was a lesson.
Each tree planted symbolized:
• A commitment to a greener future
• Responsibility for creation
• Growth that takes time, care, and consistency

As the children and students dug into the soil together, laughter filled the air. Hands got dirty, but hearts were full. In that moment, seeds of environmental stewardship were planted not just in the ground, but in the hearts of the next generation.

Love in Action: Time with the Children

Beyond the trees, what mattered most was presence.
The students spent meaningful time with the children playing, listening, encouraging, and simply being there. These moments may seem small, but to a child, they are everything. Easter is a season that reminds us of sacrificial love, renewal, and hope. And that message came alive in the simplest ways:
• Shared smiles
• Conversations filled with encouragement
• Acts of kindness that spoke louder than words

For many of the children, this was not just a visit it was a reminder: you are seen, you are valued, you are loved.

Mentoring the Next Generation

The visit also carried a deeper purpose: mentorship. By interacting with the children, the students from Strathmore University became living examples of what is possible. Through their presence, they inspired dreams, encouraged education, and demonstrated leadership rooted in compassion. Children learn not only from what we say, but from who we are. And on this day, they encountered role models who showed them that their future can be bright, purposeful, and impactful.

The True Meaning of Easter

This experience reflected the true essence of Easter, not just a celebration, but a transformation.
It was about:
• Giving without expecting in return
• Showing love in tangible ways
• Bringing light into spaces that need it most
In the spirit of “Let the little children come to Me” (Matthew 19:14), the day became a living testimony of faith expressed through action.

A Call to Continue the Impact

What happened at Echoes of Mercy is a reminder that change begins with simple steps, showing up, giving time, and caring deeply.
You too can be part of this story:
• Support initiatives that care for vulnerable children
• Take part in environmental conservation efforts
• Mentor and uplift the next generation
Because when we come together with purpose, love multiplies, hope rises, and lives are transformed.

Final Reflection

As the trees grow, so will the memories of that day. As the children grow, so will the impact of the love they received. And perhaps the greatest takeaway is this:
When we invest in both people and the planet, we shape a future worth believing in.
